Hellenic Paganism Hellenic paganism refers to a group of people devoted to the ancient Greek gods. In the past, this religious practice was prohibited by the Emperor Theodosius I in the fourth century of the current era. Nowadays, a small number of people say that this religion has survived  throughout the centuries.  The current hellenistic groups base their religious views on three common sources: the ancient writings of classical authors like Homer and his contemporaries, the academic work about ancient hellenistic religion and their own experience. Most of these people are devoted to Olympic gods: Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Hermes, Demeter, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, Ares, and either Hestia or Dionysus. Typically, hellenes are governed by a set of ethical convictions inspired by ancient Greek virtues like moderation, reciprocity, hospitality, etc. Additionally, we can say that hellenes haven’t a clergy or a “dogma”. In this post, we will try to assign and illustrate the most general characteristics of Greek culture from the types of culture in the Lewis model. So, when we speak of Greek culture, we can imagine this culture in a similar position related to reactive culture, where people tolerate silences well or prioritize courtesy and respect, listening quietly and calmly to their interlocutors and reacting carefully to the other side's proposals. We think you can imagine it, because Greece is a country that has been made based on the radical customs of its people, being very conservative for centuries but that is not true. Now, we thought in the scores of each point for Greek culture and then, we compared our estimated scores with real scores and scores for Colombia. These were the results:                     Firstly, we determined a 60% score in “PDI”, and this score is the real score. If we think on reasons for this particular score, we can say that Greek people are more prone to question higher ranking people, this especially due to the current economic situation of country. It´s so similar to the situation in Colombia. Respect to “IDV” we thought that this score for Greek people was low (25%); real result is 35%.   We think that main reason for this score is due to Greek culture seems to be like Colombian culture in things like, for example, familiar aspect. These characteristics prove a high level of collectivism. Following the same logic of the previous point, we consi
